Iran's general died by the United States attack

International/newsbentang.com - The United States gave an explanation related to the attack on Iraq by air on Friday (3/1) morning. The US attack killed the Iranian General and the leader of the Quds Force, Qasem Soleimani.

Quoted from Reuters on Saturday (4/1), US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the attack was aimed at disrupting the attack that would be carried out by Iran allegedly planned by Soleimani.

The attack has the potential to endanger US citizens. Pompeo, was reluctant to explain the attack that would be carried out by Iran. However, the decision to attack and target Soleimani was intelligence.

"The attack was aimed at destroying the '(Iran) attack that was about to take place' and based on Soleimani's intelligence assessment was targeted," Pompeo said. US officials say Washington has sent about 3,000 troops to the Middle East.

This was to anticipate the increasing threat to US troops who were already there. Earlier the Pentagon said the killing of Soleimani was Trump's direct order. Soleimani was killed because he was accused of being responsible for the death of US troops and military in Iraq.

"General Soleimani is actively developing plans to attack US diplomats in Iraq and surrounding areas, General Soleimani and the Quds Force are responsible for the deaths of US citizens and their coalition, as well as wounding thousands of others," the Pentagon said.

Meanwhile, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was furious over Soleimani's death. He promised to revenge viciously against the United States.

"With the passing of him, God willing, the work he left will not stop, we will revenge cruelly to criminals who make his hands covered with blood from him (Soleimani) and other martyrs," said Khamenei.
