Tentara Nasional Indonesia Angkatan Darat (TNI AD), kembali menorehkan prestasi gemilang di pentas internasional dengan menjadi Juara Umum Lomba Tembak bergengsi antar Angkatan Darat.

Juara ini diperoleh dari 18 negara yang diselenggarakan oleh Angkatan Darat Australia (Royal Australian Army) bertajuk Australian Army of Skill Arms at Meeting (AASAM) 2018, yang berlangsung selama 18 hari, dari tanggal 23 April s.d. 10 Mei 2018, di Puckapunyal Military Range, Victoria, Australia.

Kepala Dinas Penerangan TNI AD ( Kadispenad ) Brigjen TNI Alfret Denny Tuejeh menjelaskan bahwa Prajurit TNI AD keluar sebagai Juara Umum AASAM tahun 2018 setelah meraih 36 medali Emas, 18 Perak dan 13 Perunggu di berbagai materi lomba tembak yang diperebutkan.

Ditambahkan oleh Brigjen Denny Tuejeh bahwa sebagai runner up adalah kontingen dari Angkatan Darat Australia dengan perolehan medali 9 Emas, 4 Perak dan 10 Perunggu, disusul peringkat ketiga dari Angkatan Darat Malaysia yang memperoleh 8 medali Emas, 6 Perak dan 2 Perunggu.

“Adapun 18 negara yang ikut berpartisipasi pada lomba tembak internasional tahunan ini, yakni Indonesia, Australia, Malaysia, Filiphina, Jepang, New Zealand, Thailand, Amerika Serikat, Korea, Canada, Singapura, Brunai Darussalam, UEA, Inggris, Fiji, Tonga, Timor Leste dan Kamboja,” kata Kapuspen TNI.

Lebih lanjut Kapuspen TNI mengatakan bahwa materi yang dilombakan pada Lomba Tembak AASAM tahun 2018, meliputi materi Senapan dan Pistol serta Sniper.  Kontingen TNI AD menerjunkan 12 atlet menembaknya terdiri dari 5 Prajurit Kostrad, 4 Prajurit Kopassus, 2 Prajurit Kodam XIV/Hasanuddin dan 1 Prajurit Kodam Jaya dengan 4 orang Official. Sebagai Komandan Kontingen Kolonel Inf Khabib Mahfud, S.I.P. yang kesehariannya menjabat sebagai Komandan Brigif Raider 13/1 Kostrad.

Sementara itu, 7 (tujuh) petembak Indonesia menjadi 10 petembak terbaik Internasional. Sedangkan untuk Champion AASAM dipertandingkan oleh Letda Inf Herlansyah melawan Serka Sugeng, dan dimenangkan oleh Letda Inf Herlansyah sebagai “Best of The Best Shooter AASAM 2018,”.

“Keberhasilan TNI AD dalam menjuarai Lomba Tembak AASAM menunjukkan profesionalisme prajurit-prajurit TNI tidak kalah dengan prajurit-prajurit negara lain yang memiliki kekuatan Angkatan Darat cukup kuat, seperti Amerika Serikat, Inggris dan Australia,” kata Alfret Denny Tuejeh
